REVEAL YOUR NATURE! MOSAICO NATURA MEXICO
Second National Nature Photography Contest

Do not let nature escape,
Capture it in images and contribute to its knowledge and conservation.

On December 7, institutions from different sectors of the country launched the call for the Second National Nature Photography Contest. The host of the event was the Museum of Popular Art located in the center of Mexico City. The call invites all citizens residing in Mexico to participate in the contest and to send their images about Mexican biodiversity to the official site located at Mosaico Natura México www.mosaiconatura.net. The call will be open from December 7, 2015 at 11pm on February 29, 2016.

To the partnership between National Geographic in Spanish, the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR), the Secretary of the Environment of the Federal District Government (SEDEMA), Nikon one of the most iconic brands in the world of photography, the magazine Mexicanísimo and the National Commission for the Knowledge and Use of Biodiversity (CONABIO), the valuable participation of the National Commission of Natural Protected Areas (CONANP), ACIR Foundation, AC, Radio Ibero 90.9 and the Recrea agency is added. The photographs and videos (new category) should represent the natural wealth in Mexico: plants, fungi and animals of the country in wildlife, ecosystems, uses of biodiversity, nature in tourist destinations and processes or activities that degrade nature.

The First National Nature Photography Contest launched in 2014, had the participation of all the states of the country and a total of 17,607 photographs. The surprising results derived from the enthusiastic citizen participation and the collaboration of the media to spread the event. In this Second National Nature Photography Contest , the jury, composed of professional experts in the field of photography, will select the winning images. The authors will be awarded in May 2016 during the 6th Week of Biological Diversity, an event that takes place in our country on the occasion of the International Day of Biodiversity and the Decade of Biological Diversity 2011-2020.

From the total of photographs to be received, the jury will select 80 finalists including the best photographs of each state to make the exhibition “Visions of our nature”. This sample will be exhibited in the bars of the Bosque de Chapultepec in Mexico City, on Paseo de la Reforma Avenue, during the months of April to June and later in the Forest of San Juan de Aragón.

The Photography contest is divided into two categories: Adults and Youth.
