FAO has selected two sites in Spain and one in Mexico as world agricultural heritage.
The agricultural heritage systems are areas rich in biodiversity and wildlife in the that practices that promote sustainability and protect the environment are used at the same time that they support social and economic development.
Among its latest additions, the Food and Agriculture Organization highlights the Spanish production of salt in Valle Salado de Añana, Álava, and vineyard of La Axarquía, Málaga. It also highlights the agricultural and ecological potential of chinampas, in Mexico.
