Launch event of the III World Forum of Mexican Gastronomy

– Two major themes “Mexico City: Cooking Kitchens” and “Chiles, peppers, peppers and spices”
– Great Britain will be the special guest this 2015 in the III World Forum of Mexican Gastronomy
– Sixty traditional cooks and more than fifty agro-producers under one roof.
Energizing the actions of safeguarding and promoting the gastronomic cultural heritage of Mexico will be one of the objectives of the III World Forum of Mexican Gastronomy, which will take place from November 26 to 29 in Mexico City; This is what Gloria López Morales, president of the Conservatory of Mexican Gastronomic Culture, pointed out.

López Morales explained that the Forum constitutes the space in which all the actors and factors that intervene in the culinary culture and the food system of the country converge and, at the same time, it is the result of collaboration between the Federal Government, the Government of the Mexico City, academic institutions and companies related to the world of gastronomy.

Accompanied by Miguel Torruco Marqués, Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico City, the writer also pointed out that in this third edition the leading role of Mexico City as a melting pot and receiver of all the country’s culinary expressions is particularly significant. But, in addition, it considered that the capital city is at present a center where the culinary diversity of the world converges. In this framework, the issue of traditional markets that foster such splendor will also be addressed.

When referring to the venues where the World Forum of Gastronomy will be held, Lopez Morales said that the main one will be the National Center for the Arts (CENART), the Churubusco Studies, the cloister of Sor Juana / Beistegui Forum and the Central de Abasto From Mexico City.

The exciting theme of chili peppers, peppers, peppers and spices, will be another of the thematic axes of the Forum. An issue that has moved the world since antiquity will be addressed in this way, particularly since 1492 when the processes of food globalization are accelerating, which nowadays are vertiginous.

Specialists and producers from several Asian countries, the Middle East, North Africa and the Andean countries will attend the meeting to discuss important questions about the decisive role these products play in the diet and in world trade. Mexican cuisine has a lot to contribute in that respect.

Before authorities of the Federal Government, the executive director of the III World Forum of Mexican Gastronomy announced that the United Kingdom of Great Britain, will be the special guest, will bring to the meeting relevant participation about its role in the spice trade worldwide .

It should be noted that this project to promote and safeguard the gastronomic heritage of our country is coordinated by the Conservatory of Mexican Gastronomic Culture, a non-governmental organization whose main purpose is the preservation, rescue, safeguarding and promotion of uses, customs, products, practices cultural and knowledge that constitute the common trunk that defines traditional Mexican cuisine.

The Forum will bring together national and international experts who will work in two main thematic fields: “Mexico City: Kitchen of Kitchens” and “Chiles, peppers, peppers and spices”, as well as other topics related to the transmission of knowledge, health and tourism that will contribute to the safeguarding and promotion of our gastronomic heritage. In addition, he assured that on this occasion sixty traditional cooks from all over the country and more than fifty producers related to agro-industry will meet.
